PvP events in Top Drives can be set up to require you to complete a certain number of races in order to unlock a given prize tier. If you see a padlock icon on a prize tier, this means you have not yet completed enough races to qualify for those rewards. At the bottom of each tier, you will see the number of matches left to play in order to unlock that tier, and as you play matches that number will decrease, indicating how many more you will need to play to qualify!
Some things to note:
- If when an event finishes you have not completed enough races to unlock the prize tier you ranked in (in terms of the leaderboard points score), you will receive the reward for the highest prize tier that you do qualify for
- Only races you have actively played yourself count towards the number of races required to unlock and qualify for a given prize tier - races completed by other players against your ghosts do not count towards your total number of races
- It is possible for an event to have some prize tiers requiring a given number of races, but others with no minimum races requirements
- There will always be at least one tier of prizes without a minimum number of races required to unlock it - so you will always win something from an event; you will never be left without rewards!
- If players above you do not play enough races to qualify for the tier they rank in, they will be awarded a lower prize tier - potentially allowing you to move up if you have played enough races to qualify for a higher tier - you can find more detail on this here
